With Maurice Kelly | le Maurice Kelly

In the weeks leading up to the festival Maurice Kelly will work intensively with school children from across the city – introducing them to the joys of choral singing. They will explore the most versatile of instruments: the human voice. During the workshops participants will have great fun discovering ways in which our voices can be used to provide melody, harmony and percussion. The aim will be to create a vocal and percussion ensemble for a showcase performance on Monday 3 February, with musical support from Jack Warnock (guitar) and Moya Sweeney (bodhran).

Oibreoidh Maurice Kelly go dian le páistí scoile ó gach cearn den chathair sna seachtainí roimh an fhéile – ag tabhairt blaiseadh beag den chóramhránaíocht dóibh. Déanfaidh siad iniúchadh ar an uirlis is ilúsáidí atá ann: guth an duine. Tabharfar deiseanna dóibh i rith na gceardlanna bealaí a oibriú amach a ligeann dúinn ár nguthanna á úsáid chun foinn, comhcheol agus cnagcheol a sheinm. Is í an aidhm atá taobh thiar de seo ná ensemble guthach agus cnagcheolmhar a chur ar an ardán Dé Luain 3 Feabhra, le tacaíocht ó Jack Warnock (giotár) agus Moya Sweeney (bodhrán).
