Johnathan McCloy has been dancing for six years and in that time has won most of the sean-nós dancing competitions in Ireland, the most recent of which was the sean-nós dancing competition at the Oireachtas na Samhna. Recently he has joined other dancers in the collection and revival of sean-nós dancing from the north of Ireland.

“Sean-nós dancing is the style of solo dancing done before standardisation. No written rules, no standing up straight with arms by the side, no curly wigs, big dresses or heavy shoes.”

Tá Johnathan McCloy ag damhsa le sé bliana anuas agus le linn an ama sin tá bunús na gcomórtas damhsa ar an sean-nós in Éirinn bainte aige, agus bhain sé an comórtas damhsa ar an sean-nós ag Oireachtas na Samhna le déanaí. Tháinig sé le chéile le déanaí le damhsóirí eile agus iad ag iarraidh damhsa ar an sean-nós a bhailiú agus a athnuachan i dtuaisceart na hÉireann.
